Opening in the 1992-1993 season of Roseanne, the diner was introduced as a place where Roseanne and her sister, Jackie, worked as waitresses. It quickly became a central location for the show, providing a place for the characters to gather and share their experiences and struggles. The diner was known for its laid-back atmosphere and was often the site of heated debates, laughter, and tears.

Emily’s family recipe
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1 tsp. olive oil
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 can tomato sauce
½ green bell pepper chopped
½ cup sliced green olives
1-2 tablespoons capers
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 brioche bread buns
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add onion, stirring occasionally until translucent and tender, 6 minutes.
2. Add ground beef and ground pork, using a wooden spoon to break up the meat into small crumbles. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Once half the meat has browned, add garlic, bell pepper, and spices. Stir until combined, and cook the meats until they are no longer pink at all.
4. When meat is done add tomato sauce, olives and capers. Stir until combined and flavors meld.
5. Pile meat onto one hamburger bun, and cover with the other half of the bun. Repeat until you have four sandwiches.
